How Jingo Works

  1. Get started by browsing products or signing up for a personalized experience—no Google permissions are required at sign-up.
  2. When you're ready to use smart recommendations or social gifting features, Jingo will request, read-only access to your Google Calendar or Contacts.
  3. With Calendar access, Jingo can identify upcoming events and surface gift ideas or reminders accordingly.
  4. With Contacts access, you can create collaborative wishlists or share gift suggestions with friends and family.
  5. You remain in full control—permissions are optional, used only when required, and never exceed what’s needed for the active feature.

Why Does Jingo Request Access to Google Data?

  • Google Calendar: So we can remind you of upcoming events and suggest gifts or products that fit the occasion.
  • Google Contacts: So you can personalize shopping with friends, share items easily, or build collaborative lists.

These permissions are completely optional and only used to support specific features you’ve opted into.

How We Use Google Data

  • We use your Calendar events to surface relevant product ideas.
  • We use your Contacts to enable social shopping and sharing tools.
  • We do not use this data for advertising or retargeting.
  • We do not sell or share your data with unrelated third parties.
  • We do not store your data beyond what is needed for the functionality you've enabled.

All data access is governed by the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
